We bring together the best ideas and models for transitioning from the carbon-addicted world to the post-carbon world as quickly, equitably, and sustainably as possible. setting the agenda
Every year, Post Carbon Institute publishes books, reports, articles, commentaries, and blog posts that build awareness, challenge misconceptions, promote promising models, and inspire action. Together, these publications help set a new and inspiring agenda by providing both an in-depth understanding of the key crises, and an integrated roadmap for the transition at hand.learn more
changing the conversation
Through various communication vehicles — public presentations, web sites and social media, creative videos, direct engagement with other NGOs, and general outreach — Post Carbon Institute helps shift the public dialogue toward a common sense understanding of the situation, and a meaningful exchange of ideas for how best to respond.learn more
building resilience
Post Carbon Institute provides concrete, tangible resources for individuals and communities to take action. In 2012, PCI will debut the Community Resilience Guides, four handbooks on planning for a relocalized future, producing food locally, producing energy locally, and financing these and similar ventures. PCI will also launch resilience.org, a clearinghouse of information and inspiration, and a convening point for individuals and groups.learn more
