David OrrPost Carbon Fellow David Orr gave the commencement address at the Naropa 2012 commencement ceremony, as reported in the Boulder Daily Camera.

From the article:

David Orr, the Paul Sears Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics at Oberlin College in Oblerlin, Ohio delivered the commencement address. Orr in 1996 headed up design efforts on Oberlin's Adam Joseph Lewis Center, one of the first substantially green buildings on an U.S. college campus. Orr said he did not want to feed into the false notion that Naropa graduates would save the world by themselves. He said the average college graduate has roughly 21,533 days until reaching the age of 80, and that by acknowledging the good and bad in human nature Naropa graduates could make the most of their time.

"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody is watching, sing like nobody is listening and live like its heaven on earth," Orr said. "God speed."
