Reduce Consumption : Produce Locally

ASPO Ireland News

Submitted by Colin Campbell on January 27, 2006 - 6:34am.

Friday, 27th of January

C.J. Campbell was in Norway having useful discussions with a major oil company. New data were acquired and important new research by the company evaluated. It has found that virtually all the world's oilfield reservoirs have a temperature of between 60 and 120 degrees C. Geothermal gradients range from one area to another, but recognition of this temperature range is an important development, underlining the limits in Nature.

C.J.Campbell also gave a presentation to the Institute of Transport and Logistics in Dublin which had a positive reception which may result in more support for ASPO IRELAND.

An all-party political committee is being formed in Dublin to address the impact of Peak Oil. Interviews were given to BBC and Irish Radio. Discussions with the responsible department in the European Commission were held in connection with a new committee to be formed there on energy supply.
