Peak of Regular Conventional Oil was passed:
Routine work on the database and depletion modelling continues, leading to an updated evaluation through 2005. It is an endless task to capture all the information that comes in and properly evaluate it. It suggests that the Peak of Regular Conventional Oil was passed in 2005 and that the peak of All Liquids will come around 2010.
It has been a busy month for ASPO-Ireland. First, it is subject to reorganisation with the arrival of Richard O'Rourke and Katie Buckley to run it and find new sponsorship with which to continue and expand its work, if possible hosting the ASPO-6 international conference in 2007.
The following lectures were given
1. Friends of the Earth in Killarney on March 24th
2. Prince of Wales Business and the Environment at Cambridge University on March 29
3. Energy Futures programme in Dublin, attended by 400
There has been much media interest with several broadcasts on Irish Radio as well as to Singapore and Australia, and interviews granted to journalists and TV film crews from Sweden, Belgium, and France.
