Reduce Consumption : Produce Locally

Getting up and running

Submitted by darrenhatina on May 27, 2006 - 12:35pm.

Since these are the early days of getting this site up and running, I think it might be fun to keep a record of how things evolve over time. The first priority for the site is for me, as the site manager, to understand how it works and what capabilities it has. At this point, I've been playing around just experimenting with how the info is presented and can be commmunicated across the spectrum of Fernie's relocalization. I'm particularly interested in the potential for the projects tool to manage documentation and enable publlic viewing of our local initiatives but I'm having some trouble displaying it at the moment. I'm very glad that a couple of people have joined the group and it's great to see how multiple people can interact through the site. Thanks very much to all visitors. The next step will be presenting the site in more detail to the other A4LL members, encouraging their membership and making full use of the site's many features. Also on the go are.... Public access to Think Tank Cinema through the Library (possible coverage by the Free Press including the mayor highlighting "End of Suburbia"), A Peak Oil Resolution for Fernie, Local broadcast of the CMCH Net Zero Energy Healthy Housing initiative, Development of an A4LL Newsletter for our mailing list
