For more information about the West Linn Sustainability Group, to get involved or obtain a peak oil primer slide show, please contact the coordinator of the group, Curt Sommer, at csommer at opusnet dot com. We plan to dovetail a large part of our efforts with the Portland Peak Oil group since they have anywhere from 50 to 100 active people. The Portland Permaculture Institute is also beginning to become more viable as a potential resource.

Goals of the West Linn Sustainability Group:

* Promote development of local, sustainable businesses that provide essential goods and services to the citizens of West Linn.

* Promote greater use of alternative forms of transportation within the City and the surrounding region including mass transit, bicycles, mopeds, electric vehicles and also feet.

* Promote development of Community Supported Agriculture and local community gardens for use by local residents.

* Promote the use of green building technologies and the use of recycled and/or sustainable building materials in the development or remodling of homes and businesses.
