What can we do?

Here's what we have done in our house to reduce fossil fuel dependence:

The peak oil problem is coming into view for a lot of people. I think that the next few winters will hurt. I talk to people who are switching to wood, keeping their houses at 55 degrees and barely making it now. Give it two years. Of course some of us will adapt to changing circumstances. When it costs over $4000 bucks to heat a small house we'll be in trouble.

worse, people can't even chance a lightbulb to compact fluorescent, (and save money). It's not the solutions that evade us, but the psychological understanding. Without it, how can anyone change?

get the end of suburbia dvd, show some friends, try. All we can do is try. Be sincere and others will too. Then only together can we really help each other.
