OilCrash!
The Crash may come sooner for America
As of March 20, some countries will be buying oil from Iran for euros not dollars. If this becomes widespread and Bush does something stupid to cause the dollar to drop again,( it fell 35% in 20 months after the invasion), we can kiss $3/gallon gas and possiblly the economy goodbye.

Greetings from Austin's Crude Awakening oil awareness group.
This coming weekend (March 11, 2006), a brand new documentary film will enjoy its World Premier in Austin, TX. It's entitled OilCrash! The film is a very pragmatic and sobering look at the reality of oil depletion.
Some members of our meetup group were priviledged to receive a private preview of the film this past weekend. We were extremely impressed and strongly endorse and recommend the film to everyone interested in oil depletion issues. (We are assuming that distribution details will be published by the Producers within the next few weeks.) This film is an excellent compliment to The End of Suburbia and Peak Oil: Imposed By Nature. It includes in-depth, thought-provoking interviews with Colin Campbell, Matt Simmons, Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, David Goodstein, Matt Savinar, Terry Lynn Karl, Fadhil Chalabi (former OPEC Minister), Robert Ebel and many others.
Every American will be profoundly affected by the issue of oil depletion and we are strongly urging Austin citizens to view the film at one of the screenings to be held here. We have issued press releases and posted the event on community calendars and internet bulletin boards, including CraigsList. We hope you will join us in urging your local community to seek out a screening and attend, or organize the screening yourself as soon as distribution details are announced. You might begin by contacting your local "arts" movie theater to determine if they would like to sponsor a screening.
This film was produced and directed by award-winning European journalists and filmmakers Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack, and tells the story of how our civilization’s addiction to oil puts us on a collision course with geology. The film visits with the world’s top experts and comes to the startling, but logical conclusion – our industrial society, built on cheap and readily available oil, must be completely redesigned and overhauled … immediately.
Shot on location at oil fields in Azerbaijan, Venezuela, the Middle East and Texas, with original music by Daniel Schnyder and Philip Glass, the film provides very serious questions, and possible solutions to the oil depletion challenge. You can view the trailer at http://www.youtube.com/? v=IQAw-zkv82w .
According to Robert B. Semple, Jr., associate editor of the New York Times editorial board, the idea that the world’s oil supplies have peaked, or will soon, is gaining mainstream currency and “it deserves a careful look — largely because it is almost certainly correct.” We believe this documentary covers almost all of the key points of peak oil and will seriously enlighten those who view it.
We thought you should know about it.
Warm regards from Crude Awakening in Austin!
