Reduce Consumption : Produce Locally

positive alternatives

Next week we'll be showing EOS in our neighborhood - Mt Airy in northwest Philadelphia, after a local foods potluck. We'd like to keep the post-film discussions positive, with the theme 'Post-peak could be fun!'.

A simple example is that we'll be hanging clothes on the line instead of using the dryer - so a rainy day can mean a day off from laundry chores!

Any ideas from New York?

Lots of great ideas

Personally peak oil has affected many aspects of my lifestyle that I would definitely say are positive:

Eating more healthy vegetarian foods
Eating more local foods
Potluck dinners with friends from the neighborhood
Walking to work (2 miles each way)
Talking more to my neighbors
Riding my bike on the weekends
