President Bush Thanks Congressman Bartlett for Leading on "Peak Oil" at White House Christmas Party Last Night

Congressman Bartlett Urges Government Leadership of Massive Transformation to a Secure and Sustainable Energy Future.

Washington, DC - Congressman Roscoe Bartlett said that he was very pleased that President Bush spoke about their June 29 meeting and thanked him for his leadership on "Peak Oil" at the White House Congressional Ball last night. Congressman Bartlett will be the lead witness at a hearing by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The legislative hearing will focus on H. Res. 507, which expresses "the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States, in collaboration with other international allies, should establish an energy project with the magnitude, creativity, and sense of urgency that was incorporated in the 'Man on the Moon' project to address the inevitable challenges of 'Peak Oil'." Copies of H. Res. 507 and an embargoed copy of Congressman Bartlett's prepared testimony are available upon request.
