Professor Tony Marmont

"Twenty years of work in renewable energy has produced a very workable composite system and I am sure that the local energy farm will work equally well." - Tony Marmont
British engineer and Professor Tony Marmont is the Founder and Director of Beacon Energy. Over the last thirty years, driven by increasing alarm over climate change and pollution, Marmont has developed a highly unusual and innovative energy farm in the middle of England. In this interview with Julian Darley, Tony Marmont speaks about his energy farm.
The state-of-the art technologies at Marmont's West Beacon Farm and Whittle Hill Farm Buildings provide research opportunities for the renewable energy centres at Loughborough University, Leicester De Montfort University and Nottingham University, all of which have developed with support and collaboration with Beacon Energy, and offer internationally renowned MSc courses in different aspects of renewable energy.
