Short List of Products Made with Oil (plastic)
Seems it would be much easier to compile the list of things not made with oil.
I like to challenge people by asking them to look around them and list the things that aren't made with fossil fuels, either as feedstock or as fuel burned in creating the product. Unless they are out in nature, they usually have a hard time with that one...
BTW, why is hair included in the short list? I'm growing my own without oil/plastic, although at a much slower rate than I did back in the 70's!
Cheers,
Jim Z
Well man, I took it off Wolf at the Door so maybe they do it that way in the UK? :D
You're right about the use of plastics and fossils fuels to create most of the products used by modern society. Imagine if we never burned fossil fuels (we wouldn't be at peak for starters) we would have enough plastic to buy crap from Walmart for centuries!
Wow... It seems to me that we are truly utilizing oil to its full potential. What would we do without oil?
That's a long list. Thanks for sharing with us. I really like it very much. keep it up and nice informative article.
Oil derived products are ubiquitous. But, do you realize just how common they are? If you think you’ve shed your oil addiction, think again. I guarantee you will find at least one product in this list that surprises you. Oil derived products are more common than you think! Thanks for sharing with us. I really like it a lot.

All of these things are made from oil. As oil prices rise and supplies dwindle, substitutes will have to be found to replace them that are renewable and pollute as little as possible. (List from http://www.wolfatthedoor.org.uk/)
