Showing of "The Power of Community - How Cuba survived Peak Oil"

Jun 1 2006 - 8:00am
Etc/GMT-8

Body:
Watch a new movie about how the people of Cuba coped when their oil supply from USSR was cut off in the late 1990's. The Cuban people moved to organic farming and now farmers are well respected and well paid - and no one goes hungry and the people have fewer "North American" diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. We could learn a lot from the people of Cuba, who like us, live on an island.

Okay, we saw the Power of cummnuity: How cuba survived peak oil last week, in Big Sur CA, and it was incredible. An awakening for sure. I was impressed with the story about the organization, too. The documentary is now listed on the internt movie database where you can vote... I voted for End of Suburbia, too. http://imdb.com/title/tt0814275/
