There's a Benicia-Vallejo outpost but I am unable to communicate

Submitted by zimmerthing on December 12, 2005 - 6:49pm.

There appears to be a Benicia-Vallejo outpost but I'm not able to conect - the site link http://benicia.postcarbon.org/ goes to a 404. Iv'e got a little house on a big lot and I'd love to get some local folks involved with gardening and eating the extra eggs that my chickens give me. Should I start another Vallejo outpost and how that it can become functional? What to do? -- Gretchen

Hi Gretchen, The thing for you to do is to email shelby@postcarbon.org She can give you the status of the existing group and form a new one yourself if the existing one is defunct. Best, Milton Ariail

Hi Gretchen,
Unfortunately their site is no longer active, since we switched our site to a new system. You can contact the Coordinator, Marilyn Bardet by email at mjbardet@sbcglobal.net or try also benicia-vallejo@postcarbon.org. They should have a web presence soon. Alternately, if you are interested in forming another outpost in your area, send me an email at shelby@postcarbon.org and we can discuss the formalities of joining the Relocalization Network. Best of luck, and look forward to hearing from you!
cheers,
shelby

Hi Gretchen !
So glad to hear from you. I joined the Bay Area outpost last month, and I will see Marilyn early next week and ask if we can get the Benicia-Vallejo website back up and running --- she has the names and numbers of the original people so we don't have to start from scratch.

I also told Dave that I would host a Post-Carbon event in February. Would love to have you help me put that together.

Is there anything else I can do? I have next week off from work, maybe we could get together ---
love, jan
