Shantal joins Post Carbon Institute as Managing Editor of Resilience.org. She has a background in journalism and has worked in the non-profit sector since 2020, focusing on science and advocacy communications. Shantal is deeply interested in how people receive information, particularly critical news and resources in a rapidly changing world shaped by climate change, environmental degradation and threats to human rights. She is passionate about reducing the barriers to engagement with complex issues and, in both her professional and personal endeavours, aims to make social issues more accessible and solutions more actionable.

Shantal’s experience spans communications, digital strategy and media relations, and she has worked with organizations and publications such as NOW Magazine, the YWCA, Plan International Canada and the Partnership for Economic Policy. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, travelling and spending time with her two dogs.
