Alex Leff is a documentary filmmaker, immersive theater creator, and podcast producer-host whose work explores memory, meaning, and the relationships between people, place, and the systems that shape our world. His award-winning film Cycle of Memory received “Best of the Festival” at the Sunset Los Angeles Film Festival in 2022, and his earlier feature “In the Path of Resistance”—which follows frontline communities along the proposed Keystone XL pipeline—was broadcast internationally and translated into multiple languages.
Alex served as an additional editor on Vice’s series “Better Angels: The Gospel According to Tammy Faye,” which premiered at Sundance. His 2013 film “Students & Goliath: How the Youth Took on the Fossil Fuel Industry” was praised by environmentalist Bill McKibben as a powerful organizing tool for the climate movement. Beyond film, Alex co-created the critically acclaimed immersive theater comedy experience “Bar of Dreams”, which ran for two years in Los Angeles. He is currently the host of Human Nature Odyssey, a podcast exploring humanity, civilization, and how the stories we tell shape our response to an era of global crisis and transformation. Alex studied documentary film at Hampshire College in Amherst,
