Roughly 90% of all seniors at CVHS and CHS feel afraid for their future due to catastrophic climate disruption. If 90% of our students are afraid, shouldn’t we do something about it? The most recent IPCC report gives us 11 years to make drastic and positive changes to our everyday lives, in order to reduce the greenhouse gases we are infusing into the atmosphere.

Come to the May 9th Climate Solutions Event at Corvallis High School to find solutions that can make a positive difference in your children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

We will hear from Asher Miller, Corvallis parent and Director of Post Carbon Institute, discuss how we can make a positive transition away from fossil fuels. And Kelsey Juliana will describe how she put her fear into action by becoming lead plaintiff in the historic Julianna v. US “kids climate trial” with Our Children’s Trust.

Preceding and following the presentation, there will be numerous organizations providing information for real-world solutions that you can incorporate into your own homes and lives, to reduce your carbon footprint and protect your kids from a toxic and miserable future.

The Speakers and Q & A are from 6-7 pm with information available from 5-8 pm. Food will be available for purchase, as this important presentation is at dinnertime.

This presentation is free yet we would like you to pre-register to give an idea of numbers in attendance for our food carts. Every adult in attendance can submit a raffle ticket by writing a child’s name on the ticket for prize drawings. The Adult must be present to win for the child!

There are about 30 slots for child care during the presentation 5:45-7:15 pm. Please contact Julie.williams@corvallis.k12.or.us to secure a spot. Children must be 3-10 years and potty trained. There will be age appropriate activities provided by CHS Child Development Pre School students.

It’s not too late to make a difference. Find out how. Order your tickets here. Thank you
