Gilding talk reported in Taranaki Daily News
May 30, 2013
Post Carbon Fellow Paul Gilding’s talk on the end of growth was reported at the Taranaki Daily News.
From the article:
"We’re coming into a period where the restraint of resources is going to be the defining characteristic and driver of the global economy," Gilding said.
The availability and use of resources underpinned the world’s economy and social stability, he said. "But we’re now entering a period where resources are constrained. We’re at the end of the era where resources are freely available at ever-lowering prices.
"Infinite growth has to stop. We’re running out of cheap resources for growing the economy. Resources that we depend on for our livelihood and wellbeing are under pressure."
